Grouping

Necromancers pair well with any priest class or other pet classes. While their pets deal good damage, they are not particularly sturdy and may struggle to tank and hold aggro. In a larger group, the necromancer can contribute solid damage, especially on longer encounters. Feign death and some of their utility spells may allow them to fulfill other roles in a pinch.

Raiding

Necros are primarily focused on dealing damage in a raid setting. Multiple dots of the same type will stack on RetroQuest, and the debuff limit is significantly higher than in classic. They have a wide variety of strong DoTs, and lifetaps are almost always effective. On especially long fights they may be called on for their "twitch" (mana transfer), or mana theft abilities.
