Newbie Armor Quests

Dragons of Norrath Starter Armor Quests, or as they are colloquially referred as: "DoN Newbie Armor Quests" are available on RetroQuest as a custom add-in, and include a Head, Chest, Sleeves, Wrist, Legs, Feet, and Weapon. Despite the listings for these armor pieces and weapons on the Ixi Alla specifying only "Magic," most--if not all--of these are {Magic, Lore, No Trade}, while most--if not all--of the constituent parts before being turned in are fully tradeable.

These quests facilitate starter armor targetting primarily level 1-10 mobs (with some up to 20) finishing with a weapon that generally requires an uncommon drop or two from said mobs combined with a common drop from a Named mob in a Dungeon zone near the starter zone.

When attempting these quests organically, make sure to keep in mind that many of the starting NPCs are generalized guildmasters that may not be in your starting guildhall, and that many of the drops may come only from specific types of mobs sharing a naming convention. For example, Woven Spider Silk drops from "a widow hatchling" and "a large widow" but not from "a giant widow," nor many of the other spiders roaming Toxxulia Forest like "a large wood spider" and "a giant wood spider."

Additionally, due to race and size restrictions being lifted on RetroQuest, consider questing for an armor piece in a non-KOS town if a drop rate is low, a spawn count is limiting, a better stat is desired, or a second bracer sounds interesting. Each piece is crafted/quested separately, so a full set can contain a different piece from every town that will let you talk with the quest NPC. Not all pieces are made equal in terms of time to acquire or stats, and this doubly applies to weapons where many weapons are identical but come in flavors of one-handed or two-handed with the same damage, delay, and stats, and may present the option of different weapon types such as 1HB, 1HS, Piercing, 2HB all for the same class!

Warnings: Combining the materials for a second, identical Lore bracer will consume the materials without creating an item. If your race or starting zone does not match the target, consider the NPC before collecting the items!
